Last year, Donald Trump promised to end the war in Ukraine “within 24 hours.”
Last week, he said the issue would not be resolved until he and Russian President Vladimir Putin “come together” and talk face-to-face. On Monday, the situation changed again.
After a two-hour call with Putin, Trump said the terms of a peace deal should be negotiated between Russia and Ukraine alone and that he may assist in the negotiations by the Vatican’s Pope.
Trump, describing the talks as “very good,” also said that the terms of peace should be mutually agreed upon by both sides.
