Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who is in Turkey for a visit met his Turkish counterpart Mr. Racep Tayyip Erdogan at the presidential palace in that country .
The two President discussed how to promote cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the areas of security, development, trade, education, health, and reconstruction of the country.
President Erdogan said the cooperation between Turkey and Somalia will continue to grow, and further steps will be taken to improve relations between the two countries , he also confirmed to support Somalia especially in the fight against Al Shabab.
For his part, President Hassan Shiikh thanked the Turkish government and the Turkish public for his traditional support, promising to further strengthen the friendship of the two countries.
“Turkey has always been with Somalia in good and bad time , Turkey is an important friend who plays a major role in the construction of governance, development, and peace in the country, ” said in a statement from the President of Somalia.
