In Mogadishu, the capital of the country, a meeting was held today between the commander of the Somali police force, Brigadier General Asad Diyano and the chairman of the Independent Commission for National Elections and Borders.
The meeting discussed the role of the police in holding the People and Vote election and the security role of the Somali police in the run-up to the election.
The Somali Police Force is ready to provide security for the Election and has full power to protect the polling stations and the smooth running of the Election which is expected to be implemented in the country.
