More than 100 international organizations, including Doctors Without Borders (MSF), Save the Children and Oxfam have in a joint statement have warned of a looming famine in the Gaza Strip, calling on countries to take action.
Israel, which controls all aid entering the Gaza Strip, rejected the statement issued by aid agencies, describing it as a propaganda ploy for Hamas.
“There is not enough food in Gaza,” the doctors said. “We don’t have any milk for the babies, and their mothers are often malnourished and unable to breastfeed. When an international partner tries to bring milk to the babies in Gaza, the Israeli authorities confiscate it.”
