Trump Hails “Historic” Peace Pact Following Thai–Cambodian Ceasefire.

President Donald Trump announced that his administration played a direct role in ending the conflict between Thailand and Cambodia, which erupted in July. Following days of border clashes, both nations agreed to an “immediate and unconditional ceasefire.”

Trump said his administration held a series of phone calls with regional leaders after what he described as “the bloodshed of the war,” and that U.S. diplomatic efforts helped stop further escalation. He praised the outcome, calling it “a very good step toward lasting peace.”

In October, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet signed a joint peace agreement to reinforce the ceasefire. The ceremony was witnessed by President Trump, who hailed it as “a historic moment for Southeast Asia.”
