Thousands of protester took to the streets across the United States on Saturday to protest the latest actions taken by US President Donald Trump.

The protests, known as “50501,” for “50 protests, 50 states, 1 movement,” were planned to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the start of the American Revolutionary War.

In many places, such as outside the White House, at Tesla’s corporate headquarters, and in the center of major cities, people were expressing various grievances. Many demanded the return of Kilmar Ábrego García, who was wrongfully deported to El Salvador.

Political protests are increasing in the United States, with the “Hands Off” protests in early April drawing large crowds, as polls show Trump’s approval rating is declining.

Saturday’s demonstrations focused on several actions taken by President Trump, including those taken by the Department of Government Accountability (Doge), an initiative Trump is pushing to cut U.S. government jobs and spending.
