Both the US and Iraqi governments confirmed that the US-led coalition operation in Iraq will end in September of 2025.

The United States has 2,500 troops in Iraq, while another 900 are in Iraq’s neighboring country, Syria. This army is part of a coalition formed in 2014, which fought against ISIS, which at that time declared an Islamic Caliphate in Iraq and Syria.
However the statement did not say the number of US troops leaving Iraq and the base they will be moving from.

The Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohamed Shia Al Sudani said , although they are grateful for the help of the United States, the coalition forces in Iraq are afraid of attracting instability because they have become the target of attacks and carry out retaliatory attacks without consulting the Iraqi government.

The US and other coalition forces are expected to remain in Erbil. Other countries that are part of this mission include Germany, France, Spain, and Italy.
