The US State Department has announced a reward of up to $10 million for anyone providing information leading to the capture of Abdullahi Banati, an alleged Al-Shabaab member who played a key role in the attack on the Manda Bay military base in Kenya on the morning of January 5, 2020.
Abdullahi Banati is suspected planning which resulted in the deaths of three Americans – two civilian contractors and one soldier – and the injury of a Kenyan soldier and damage of US military assets, including aircraft and military equipment.
Banati is currently being wanted with a reward of up to $10 million according to the US, he is also the second person to be sought in this manner, with a similar reward previously placed on another Al-Shabaab leader suspected of being behind the attack.
