The Turkish oil exploration vessel that was welcomed in the port of Mogadishu yesterday were many leaders from the Somali government are participating in the welcoming ceremony.
The vessel named Oruc Reis was sent by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Petroleum Minister Abdirisaq Omar Mohamed at the beginning of this month after both countries signed agreement in July regarding the exploration of oil in the coast of Somalia .
The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, Alparslan Bayraktar and his delegation was received by the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, according to a brief statement posted by Villa Somalia on Facebook.
The Oruc Reis ship will explore an area of about 5,000 km in circumference, according to the Turkish Energy Ministry.
