The Somali government through a press release from the Ministry of Information announced that a special operation carried out in the Aden Yabaal district by the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) and international partners killed up to 12 members of the Al-Shabaab group.
The 12 Alshabab terrorists, including senior officials were eliminated in a planned operation conducted by National Intelligence and Security Agency and International Security Partners in the Adan-Yabal district of HirShabelle State.
“The operation targeted a house in the Aden Yabaal district, which was a strategic center for the Al Shabab to collect military equipment and organize their militias. During the operation, combat vehicles, large amounts of weapons and other equipment that were important to the enemy were also destroyed, and the operation went as planned,” the federal government said in a statement.
The government has insisted that it is committed to eradicating Al-Shabaab with the cooperation of the public and international partners, stating that Al-Shabaab leaders cannot escape anywhere else.
