The president of Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, has canceled a trip to Russia, after his doctors advised him that he could not board a flight lasting several hours, due to an injury on his cheek.
A statement issued by the presidential office of Brazil said that Lula, will participate in the meeting online .He was earlier expected to leave Brazil to attend the BRICS Summit in Russia.
According to medical records at the Sirio Libanes hospital in Brasilia, Lula had an injury on his cheek on Saturday ,however the cause of his injury has not been released.
The BRICS diplomatic forum has been around for 15 years now , the members of some of the largest markets in the world such as Brazil, Russia, India, and China, which was later joined by South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates.
