Syria’s new foreign minister warned Iran against “spreading chaos” in Syria. Asaad Hassan al-Shibani said that Tehran should respect the wishes of the Syrian people to distance themselves from the Assad regime and ensure the independence and security of the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran said that it has not made direct contact with the new leaders of Syria, and called on them not to allow Syria, as it put it, to be a “safe haven for terrorists”.
