The Jubbaland election committee has officially announced the schedule of the upcoming elections.

The Jubaland Independent Boundaries and Electoral Commission (JIBEC) has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming elections of key leadership positions within the Jubaland administration.

According to a statement released by the commission:

• Wednesday, November 20, 2024, has been set for receiving applications from candidates vying for the position of Speaker of the Jubaland Assembly.

• November 21–23, 2024, will be dedicated to receiving applications from presidential candidates.

The chairman of JIBEC, Dr. Mursal Siyad Mohamed, urged all aspirants to meet the necessary requirements, including obtaining the candidacy certificate, which will be issued following verification of their eligibility under the law.

Additionally, the commission has called on the public to uphold peace and stability during the electoral process to prevent any incidents that might disrupt the proceedings.

These elections are crucial for the political future of Jubaland and are expected to attract the attention of both the Somali public and the international community.
