Today, on the 21st of November, the Jubaland parliament is set to elect the new chairman of the parliament.
The candidates for this position will make speeches, and after that, the election of the chairman of the parliament, the first deputy and the second deputy, who will be elected by the third parliament of Jubaland, will take place.
After that, the members who won the election will be sworn in as the chairman and his two deputies.
On the other hand, the chairman of the Jubaland Boundaries and Elections Committee, Dr Mursal Siad Mohamed, said that the other activities of the Jubaland elections will continue, especially the category of Jubaland presidential candidates in 2024.
The presidential election that is happening today will be followed by the presidential election that will be held on the 25th of November, in which President Ahmed Madobe will be re-elected.
However, the election process in Jubbaland has been rejected by the central government which has already said that it will not accept the results, and accused Ahmed Madobe of wanting to once again anoint the leadership of Jubbaland.
