Nigerian government officials have said that at least 64 people are feared to drown in a river in Zamfara state in the northwest of Nigeria, after a boat they were traveling in capsized.
A Wooden boat carrying about 70 farmers reported overturned near Gummi districts early Saturday morning while the passengers were trying to reach their farms on the other side of the river.
Many local people organised and tried to save them, but after hours they were able to save only six of the 70 people.
More than 900 farmers cross the river every day ,also this is the second incident in the area ;said Aminu Nuhu Falale, who is part of Gummi local government administration
