Forecasters are predicting that the coast from Kismayo to Hobyo will experience storm surges of up to 25kt and waves of over 2 meters.
The sea is expected to rise, and fishermen have been warned not to venture out to sea and to stay on the coast.
Experts recommend that local media broadcast messages warning small-boat fishermen to be extra vigilant.
