The President of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilaahi (Cirro), is heading to Qatar today, following an official invitation from the country’s top leaders, which described as important and could strengthen diplomatic relations and economic cooperation between Somaliland and Qatar.
The president is expected to hold meetings with top Qatari government officials,on issues related to trade cooperation, infrastructure development, investment, and security issues in the Horn of Africa region.
The trip is part of a broader plan by the new Somaliland government to enhance international relations, also this will be President Cirro third trip to the Gulf countries. He has previously visited the United Arab Emirates twice.
