Earlier today the Somaliland Elections Committee announced the results of the elections that took place on November 13, the presidential candidate of the Wadani Party won the majority of votes, reaching 63.92 percent of votes.
The Kulmiya party’s candidate for the incumbent president, Muse Bihi Abdi, received 34.81 percent of the votes cast.
Faisal Ali Warabe, who was a candidate for the Ucid Party, also received 0.74 percent of the votes cast.
The Elections Committee also announced that Waddani, Kaah and Kulmiye parties won the competition, and thus the Ucid party left the Somaliland political arena because it could not hold its position.
The new leadership of Somaliland is faced with many issues, one of which is dealing with the living conditions in the area, which have reached a low point after increase in price of goods and services in the country.
