The Somaliland Cabinet, which held an emergency meeting in Hargeisa on Saturday, strongly condemned the Federal Government of Somalia, accusing it of blatant interference and inciting conflict in the Sool region.
Somaliland ministers described this as interference in their administration, and strongly opposed accepting the new administration announced in the areas they claimed to govern.
“The Somaliland Council of Ministers condemns the recent interference by the Somali government in the eastern Sool region. The Sool, Sanaag & Togdheer regions are undivided territory of Somaliland. Somalia’s attempt to create political divisions among clans is the beginning of a conflict within Somaliland,” said Somaliland’s Minister of Information Ahmed Yassin Sheikh Ali.
This come at a time the Federal Government of Somalia has recognize SSC-Khaatumo as a new administration
