The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, met today at Al-Calameyn Palace with his counterpart from the Arab Republic of Egypt, His Excellency Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.
The two Presidents discussed strengthening bilateral relations, strategic issues between the two countries, and also to reopen an embassy in Mogadishu.
President Hassan appreciated Egypt’s supports especially in the areas of security, diplomacy, education, health, and military cooperation in Somalia.
For his part, the Egyptian President promised to continue supporting Somalia especially in the fight against terrorism, and President Al-Sisi commended the Federal Government’s efforts to strengthen the unity, security, and development of the country.
President Hassan thanked the Egyptian government for the warm invitation extended to the delegation of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
