Somalia; Today’s session of the National Assembly called off due to a lack of quorum.

The session of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, which reopened today, was adjourned without a quorum, with 87 MPs in attendance, for the meeting was that at least 139 members be present, even though the MPs were on vacation in recent days.

Today’s agenda for the meeting was the 2nd Reading and voting on the African Charter on the Rights and Development of the Children.

The Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abdullahi Abshirow, called on MPs to attend Wednesday’s meeting so that the work of Parliament can continue.

The Deputy Speaker also warned the absents MPs, “I once again call on all MPs who are not present or abroad to immediately return to Mogadishu, fulfill their duties, and regularly attend the House sessions,” said Speaker Abshirow.
