Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Russian Presidential Envoy for East Africa and the Horn of Africa, Mikhail Bagdonov.
The meeting focused on strengthening relations between Somalia and Russia, with both sides agreeing to cooperate to advance the interests of both countries.
The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister also conveyed to the President an official invitation from Russian President Putin, regarding his participation in the Arab League summit with Russian leaders.
President Hassan Sheikh, for his part, said that Somalia is working to strengthen relations with Russia.
