Mogadishu, Monday, 05 May 2025:— The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamsa Abdi Barre, said that the Somali government is committed to encouraging domestic production, which is important for the country’s economic development and achieving food self-sufficiency.
The Prime Minister, speaking at the launch of the National Food and Agriculture Investment Conference, which highlighted the major challenges facing increasing the country’s production, urged Somali businessmen to invest in the country’s agriculture, so as to avoid importing goods from abroad, while they can be obtained domestically.
Mr. Hamsa, who listened to reports from some of the young people who presented their innovations on the conference platform, encouraged Somali youth to focus on learning agricultural sciences, in order to have a generation focused on their country’s production.
