Somalia President Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today arrived in Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi, where he had a meeting with the President of Burundi, Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye, which was focused on strengthening the relationship between Somalia and Burundi, while discussing important issues regarding security, economic and political cooperation according to the Somali Presidency.
The both Presidents discussed the strengthening of relations and cooperation between the two countries, especially the fight against the Al-Shabaab group, which is currently taking place mostly in the central regions of the country.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud thanked the president of Burundi and his government for their support and sacrifice for Somalia, which is unforgettable.
On the other hand, the president of Burundi Évariste Ndayishimiye praised the achievements of the Somali government in the war against the Al Shabab and joining the East African Community.
This trip is part of the foreign trips that the president is taking to some of the countries where troops are stationed in Somalia yesterday arrived in Uganda where he held critical meetings with his counterpart Museveni.
