The alliance of Omar Abdirashid, Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan and 23 political organizations has officially proposed that the Local Assembly elections be postponed for a period of 30 days.
They called on President Hassan Sheikh to refrain from holding the controversial election.
These members explained that the reason for their request was that they needed time to prepare the list of candidates representing the Banadir Region election, to provide proof of obtaining voter cards, and to create equal opportunity.
The Independent Electoral Commission announced that only 25 days remain until November 30, 2025, when the public elections for the local governments particularly in the Banadir Region will officially begin.
