The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamsa Abdi Barre received the new UK Ambassador to Somalia, Mr. Charles Nicholas King.
The two leaders discussed strengthening cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the areas of security, politics, the fight against genocide, elections and the acceleration of UK development projects in Somalia.
Prime Minister Hamsa also presented the achievements in the areas of the fights against Al Shabab, implementation of one person vote, which are now part of the country running for voter registration.
The Prime Minister thanked the UK government for its active role in supporting Somalia, particularly in terms of security, support for armed forces, and reconstruction and development programs.
In his side, UK Ambassador to Somalia Mr. Nicholas King, welcomed dialogue meetings between the Federal Government of Somalia and the Rescue Forum to support Somalia’s government and the progress made in security and the fight against Al Shabab.
