The Ministry of Health of the federal government of Somalia in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), is actively leading a nationwide campaign to protect children against polio and other preventable diseases. With vaccination teams reaching communities across the country, the campaign aims to ensure every child receives life-saving immunization.
Parents are being strongly advised to prioritize their children’s health by getting them vaccinated, as polio remains a significant threat to vulnerable populations the health officials said.
Health experts emphasize that vaccination is a safe and effective tool to safeguard children, preventing lifelong disabilities and eradicating diseases like polio in the country.
The Ministry and WHO have reaffirmed their commitment to leaving no child behind, encouraging community participation to achieve the campaign’s success. Parents are urged to open their doors to vaccination teams and help secure a healthier future for their children.
