Somalia Minister of Foreign Affairs said that the Ethiopian Embassy will be moved from the Villa Somalia fence.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, Ahmed Macalin Fiqi, who gave an interview, expressed his concern that the government plans to move the embassy to its official headquarters like other embassies in Mogadishu, which are outside the Presidential Villa Somalia.

“It is appropriate for the Ethiopian Embassy and its territory to be located in the National Presidency. We will work to restore its former territory, which is currently vacant,” said Minister Fiqi.

The minister also said that they are considering the feelings of the Somali people that they do not want an embassy from another country to be located in the National Presidency and they are working to remove the Ethiopian embassy in Somalia.

Also the Minister of Foreign Affairs argued that the government of Somalia will present a challenge to Ethiopia, which will demand that the Somali embassy be given land in the country’s presidency, just like the current location of their embassy.
