The Minister of Finance of the Federal Government of Somalia, Bihi Iman Cige has officially opened a meeting in Mogadishu to discuss the plan to reach a Social Agreement and increase the internal revenue of the Government of Somalia which is now planned to reach a level where foreign aid is indispensable.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the federal government some members of the Regional Government Finance, other officials from the World Bank, International Friends of Somalia, the United Nations Office of Humanitarian Affairs and members representing Organizations. Civil Society & some Somali businessmen.
Minister Bihi Iman Cige, who delivered a speech at the opening of the meeting, said that the Federal Government of Somalia is making efforts to strengthen the process of financial reform, increase the domestic revenue and complete the debt forgiveness of Somalia.
Also, the Minister of Finance mentioned how important it is for the government to increase the domestic revenue, in order to achieve economic development as part of the public service.
The meeting was created with important discussions and questions about the modernization, promotion, and development of income and taxes that were asked from the leaders who attended the meeting.
