The Somali State Minister of Defence, Hon. Omar Ali Abdi, today attended a ceremony marking the 102nd anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye, held at the Turkish Embassy in Mogadishu.
During the event, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre delivered a keynote address, describing the occasion as a day of shared joy between Somalia and Türkiye, two nations bound by a deep relationship rooted in brotherhood and partnership.
The Prime Minister also paid tribute to the courage and leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who laid the foundations of a modern republic that continues to inspire the world.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Federal Government, members of the Somali National Army, diplomats, and other distinguished guests.
