Last night, a planned operation was carried out in the Aden Yabaal district of the Middle Shabelle region by the Somali Armed Forces and the US Africa Command (AFRICOM), to eliminate the threat of the Al-Shabaab extremist group.
The airstrike, which targeted a place where the Al Shabab were gathering to take shelter, information indicates that 12 members of Al Shabab militia and leaders were killed. It is worth noting that there were no civilian casualties.
These operations are part of the ongoing efforts by the Federal Government of Somalia, in collaboration with its international partners such as the United States, to redouble the pressure against Al Shabab enemy who are trying to disrupt the liberated areas.
