The Human Rights Council of the United Nations has passed an important resolution for Somalia to take over the management of independence and its national responsibility for human rights issues, which Somalia has been missing since 1993.
The delegation of the Federal Government of Somalia led by the Minister of the Ministry of Family and Human Rights Development, Amb. Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, was in Geneva where the resolution was approved.
Minister Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, described this move as a great victory for the Somali people.
Somalia has 11 members working on human rights in Somalia, in addition to that the Council of Ministers of the Federal Government passed a resolution on the conclusion of the position of the Independent Expert on the Human Rights Situation in Somalia.
This action is part of the back-to-back achievements of Somalia in the international arena, as Somalia has already succeeded in lifting the arms embargo and debt relief.
