A statement from the Federal Government of Somalia, in collaboration with the US Africa Command, said that they jointly carried out a bombing operation against ISIS in areas of the Bari region.
The airstrikes today targeted ISIS militants and leaders who were gathering in the southeast of the city of Bosaso in Puntland.
“The operation was in support of the efforts of the Puntland State Army to eliminate terrorist . Initial assessments of the operation indicate that many ISIS members were killed, while no civilians were harmed,” the statement said.
