The Federal Government of Somalia said that a senior leader of Al-Shabaab, who was named Ali Ahmed Guure, also known as Ali Qoyane, was killed in Mubah area.
As confirmed by security sources, Ali Qoyane was a well-known person in the region, especially for linked to attacks including explosions and the heinous act of burning civilians in a vehicle in Afar Irdood area in Hiran region.
Also, the Somali Armed Forces Court sentenced Ali Qoyane to death in absentia in 2019, after receiving evidence that showed his direct role in acts of terrorism that targeted civilians and government officials.
The local officials said that the Maawiisle of Hiraan carried out a special planned operation, which resulted in the killing of Ali Qoyane and other members who were with him.
The Somali government has said that they will continue such operations against Al Shabab.
