The government of Somalia said that a planned operation in which over 40 Al Shabab militants were killed in a well-executed operation carried out by the gallant National Armed Forces in the Wargadhi and Labi Goley areas of Middle Shabelle Province on Thursday morning, after the militants attempted to attack an army base there.
A press release from the Somali government’s Ministry of Information stated that the operation took place after al-Shabaab launched an attack on the Wargaadhi area, which, according to the statement, was repelled by the armed forces and local residents.
In addition, the situation in these areas is now stable and under the control of government and local forces.
