The governments of Somalia and Ethiopia have issued a joint statement after the visit of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to Mogadishu today.
The statement said that Abiy Ahmed’s visit follows a series of talks between the two sides in recent months to improve bilateral relations between the two countries.
Also, in a statement it was said that the two countries are committed to the deep historical relationship between the people of the two countries and the border they share, and more will be done to build trust by strengthening diplomatic, economic and social cooperation between them.
Finally, the statement said, “Both sides reaffirmed their determination to work together to promote common interests, strengthen peace and security, and promote bilateral relations to benefit the interests of the people of both countries and the entire Horn of Africa region.”
