Members of the two Houses of the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Somalia who held a joint meeting today at Villa Hargeisa approved the constitution of the Independent Commission for National and Border Elections.

The Parliament approved this law by a majority vote, and 173 MPs agreed to approve it, and there were no MPs who refused or remained silent.

After that, the parliamentary committee announced that this law is valid, even though there were opposition MPs.

This plan has caused a lot of tension, after the Jubbaland, Puntland administrations and the opposition politicians against the central government rejected it.

However, information is awaited on the action taken by the Somali Parliament, which has the final decision to direct the coming elections in the country.
