The Somali National Army and the locals have carried out a planned operation in areas under Harardhere district in Mudug region, where members of Al-Shabaab were hiding.
The operation, which lasted for three days, eliminated the Khawarij militias, whose information was obtained while they were plotting terrorist acts. The troops carefully prevented the insurgent groups, targeting their gathering places.
This operation came after the forces received information that members of Al-Shabaab are conspiring against the people living in the previously liberated areas who were gathering in Haji village and Adad village in Mudug region.
The officers leading the operation confirmed to the government media that they killed the members of the intended attack and also destroyed a nearby station where the Al-Shabaab group was located.
