Somali President Urges Ministers to Boost Accountability and Transparency.

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today chaired the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers, which focused on accelerating state-building plans and improving public services.

The President urged the ministers to strengthen collaboration, accountability, and transparency in government operations.

The meeting also highlighted significant achievements in the areas of security, the economy, and governance. It was noted that in the past six months, the highest number of terrorist militants (Al-Shabaab) had been eliminated, and the equipping and training of the national armed forces had been intensified.

Additionally, it was pointed out that the national budget for the year 2026 is expected to increase, with plans to allocate the additional funds toward public services such as healthcare, education, and other essential sectors.

In conclusion, the President emphasized to the Council of Ministers the importance of fully participating in the country’s democratization efforts to strengthen public trust and reinforce the image of statehood and national unity in Somalia.
