A joint operation conducted today by the Somali National Army (SNA) and AUSSOM forces targeted Al-Shabaab militants in Busleey village, located on the outskirts of Janaale town in the Lower Shabelle region.
The operation led to the dismantling of an illegal checkpoint manned by Al-Shabaab militants, which had been used to extort civilians, impose illegal taxes, disrupt local economic activity, and restrict the movement of residents.
This operation in Busleey forms part of the ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Defence and the Somali National Army to liberate areas where terrorist groups have long oppressed the people and to restore stability and freedom across the region.
