Somali government forces began this morning to demolition Sinai Market neighborhood of Mogadishu and have closed all important roads leading to the market.
Federal government security forces have stopped traffic on the Central Highway, closed the road between Afarta Jardiin and Foloronsa and prevented people from entering the Sinai market.
The operation officially began last night at around 3:00 a.m., large bulldozers were seen parked inside the neighborhood which began to destroy parts of the buildings in the area.
Government forces are widely dispersed on the main roads and sidewalks of the neighborhood, with the number of troops far outnumbering the civilians still inside Sinai.
