The Federal Republic of Somalia welcomes the historic and principled announcement by the French Republic expressing its intention to recognize the State of Palestine.
A press release issued by the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Palestinian people have the right to an independent state in accordance with international law and United Nations resolutions.
“The Somali government considers France’s decision to be courageous and timely, contributing to world peace,” the government press release said.
