The Somali Ministry of Internal Security has confirmed that Federal Forces are operating in the Gedo region to restore security and order in the region.
An official statement from the Ministry stated that these members are engaged in organizing war and misleading the public to hide the crimes they are committing.
The ministry accused Jubbaland President Ahmed Madobe and his deputy, Mahmoud Sayid Adan to be involved in anti-security activities.
The government affirms that the Gedo region remains under the control of the Somali National Armed Forces, who have been stationed there for the past 15 years to fulfill their constitutional responsibilities. These forces are working alongside the local people to maintain peace, ensure security, and prevent terrorism and instability in the region.
Also the government warns that anyone engaged in fueling tensions or illegal activities will be held accountable. The Federal Government extends its appreciation to the people and administration of Gedo for their unity, patriotism, and ongoing support for national stability and the rule of law.
