The Federal Government of Somalia has officially lifted the ban on direct flights to Kismayo and Nairobi, as well as Kismayo and Dhoobley, as the Minister of State Transport Jubbaland, Abdullahi Diil Omar confirmed to RNN Somali TV.
The flights which were ban for several months have been affecting public mobility, trade, health services and other issues of public life.
The Federal government decision came after Jubbaland submitted to the National Rescue Council, which they discussed with the government.
These action is expected to open the broader consensus between Jubbaland and the central government, with the expectation that bilateral relations are improving, particularly in the areas of security, air management, and public services.
