The Federal Government denied the election committee that was appointed last night by the President of Jubaland which is illegal, and it said that it does not accept any election held by Jubba land.
A press release issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that the Jubbaland President’s term expired in August 2023.
“The Federal Government condemns the illegal action that Mr. Ahmed Madobe appointed as a self-election committee, and warns against any illegal action, which could create a political, security and economic crisis.” It is said in the text.
The Federal Government calls on the politicians, intellectuals, cultural leaders, scholars, women, youth and all the patient people of Jubaland to defend their constitutional power to freely and legally choose the ruler, and at the same time maintaining their peace, unity and solidarity.
