Somalia government troops and local Macawiisley fighters killed three Al-Shabaab militants in a planned overnight operation in Goobo, a village under Maxaas district in Hiiraan region.
Security officials said the joint forces raided a site used by the militants, killing three and seizing three rifles.
After completing the mission, the forces reportedly withdrew from Goobo and returned to their bases without sustaining any casualties.
The Hiiraan region has become a key frontline in the ongoing campaign against the militant group, which has faced mounting pressure from joint Somali and community forces determined to reclaim territories under its influence.
