The Commander of the SNAF Land Forces, Brigadier General Sahal Abdullahi Omar, today visited Awdheegle in Lower Shabelle, following its recent liberation from Al-Shabaab militants.
Brig. Gen. Sahal commended the bravery and determination of the Somali National Armed Forces and UPDF for their continued success under Operation Silent Storm, which aims to eliminate the Al-Shabaab terrorist group and secure the region.
The Commander and accompanying officials also met with community elders and local leaders in Awdheegle to discuss stabilisation efforts, the return of displaced residents, restoration of normal life, and the strengthening of local security.
