The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), in collaboration with international partners, carried out a specially planned operation in the area of Hiran region.
The operation resulted in the killing of a leader, Hussein Abdullahi Dalab, known as “Aamir,” who was the leader for Al-Shabaab’s planning and execution of terrorist acts in Hirshabelle.
A press release issued by NISA stated that that Amiir was one of the masterminds behind numerous attacks and bombings against civilians and government forces, and was directly involved in planning the bloody acts.
NISA officials described Aamir’s killing as a major victory in the fight to weaken Al-Shabaab’s networks, while disrupting the group’s supply and communications in the center and south of the country.
