Russia and Ukraine have begun their largest ever prisoner exchange, exchanging 2,000 prisoners in exchange for the release of 1,000 prisoners each.
About 390 prisoners, including soldiers and civilians, have been released in the past few hours, bringing the total number of prisoners from both sides to 780.
This is part of the agreement reached by the two countries in Istanbul, Turkey, in mid-May.
Also remaining prisoners will be released in the coming days.
