Russia President rejects Trump’s call to discuss Ukraine crisis.

US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin spoke by phone for nearly two hours.

During the call, Trump made a request to Putin regarding the war in Ukraine which Putin rejected call for an immediate end to the war in Ukraine and for both sides to agree to a full ceasefire.

President Putin only agreed for 30 days pause in attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities and refused to sign a long-term ceasefire agreement that the Trump team recently brokered with Ukraine after a meeting in Saudi Arabia.

Putin told Trump that Moscow would stop targeting Ukrainian energy facilities.
On Tuesday, President Putin told the US leader that a full ceasefire would only work if Ukraine’s allies stopped providing military support to Kyiv.

However, President Trump’s special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, said that further talks aimed at brokering a ceasefire between the two sides would be held in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
